Dr Kamala Saharia re-nominated to ICAR governing body

GUWAHATI, Feb 27 - Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers� Welfare Radha Mohan Singh has nominated Dr Kamala Kanta Saharia of the College of Veterinary Science, Khanapara, to the General Body as well as Governing Body of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), Government of India for a period of three years from February 8, 2018. It will be his second term in the ICAR as GB member.

Dr Saharia, having an illustrious academic career, has also been president of Seemanta Chetana Mancha, Purvottar, Assam; Editor-in-Chief of the prestigious scientific research periodical Indian Research Journal of Extension Education and a member of the Board of Directors of the Rashtriya Gramin Vikas Nidhi.

Till date Dr Saharia has been the first and only member of the august body from the NE region. He is a recipient of many research and academic awards in his field of excellence.
