GUWAHATI, Nov 14 The adyashraddha ceremony of Dr Bhupen Hazarika will be solemnized at the Nizarapar residence of the maestro tomorrow morning in the presence of his family members, relatives and well-wishers.

The daughter-in-law and grandson of Dr Hazarika, Candance Lynn Hazarika and Sage Akash Hazarika respectively, arrived in the city to be a part of the adyashraddha ceremony.

A family source said that the adyashraddha rituals would begin in the morning and were expected to conclude by 1 pm. The family members will then leave for the Veterinary College playground at Khanapara to take part in the all-faith community prayer organized as a mark of respect to the maestro.

Kamrup (Metro) Deputy Commissioner Ashutosh Agnihotri said that the all-faith prayer was scheduled to begin at 1-30 pm and a large congregation was expected. It will be an all-faith community prayer to honour the late maestro on his adyashraddha day, and not a public adyashraddha, he said, adding that it would conclude around 4 pm.

Meanwhile, preparations have been completed across the State to hold homage-paying ceremonies to mark the adyashraddha of Dr Hazarika.
