GUWAHATI, July 24 - Police tonight arrested the Deputy Controller of Examination of Assam Down Town University in the cash-for-marks scam.
Noonmati ACP Purabi Mazumdar said Arupjyoti Sharma was arrested from an undisclosed location at Noonmati. He hails from Mangaldai and was residing in the Sachal area of the city. He had joined the institution in 2010.
�We have come across various anomalies and discrepancies in the conduct of examination in the institution and we have sufficient evidence against him,� Mazumdar said.
His is the third arrest in the case so far.
