Doul Utsav celebrated with fervour

RANGIYA, March 13 - Holi was celebrated by the people yesterday with religious fervour along with other places of greater Rangiya sub-division.

People of all age groups came out in large numbers and rejoiced in the festival of colours since the morning hours. Separate religious processions were taken out by the Marwari Samaj and Sankardev Sangha of the locality.

Meanwhile, Doul Utsav was also celebrated at the historic Purnakamdeb village, Bangalikuchi, Batahkuchi, Tarani and Kanikuchi of the sub-division, which finally concluded today. Coinciding with the festival, different religious and cultural programmes were organised at those places. No report of any untoward incident was received till the time of filing this report.

Batches of youngsters were seen in all neighbourhoods here on Sunday and today, taking part in the revelries. While no serious law and order has surfaced due to the merry-making, young bikers did turn out to be boisterous and unruly on occasions.

In certain localities, local revellers organised loud parties, causing annoyance to many. In the light of the fact that CBSE schools are having their annual examinations, as well as several ongoing annual examinations are currently under way, the socially conscious section of citizens condemned the police inaction on the errant party organisers.
