IMPHAL, Jan 8 � The North Eastern Region Community Resource Management Project (NERCORMP), a livelihood and rural development project undertaken with the initiative of the North Eastern Council (NEC) and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), may include Nagaland in the next phase.

The Secretary of the Ministry for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), R Vijay Kumar, indicated this during a brief interaction with this newspaper on the sidelines of his visit to the Regional Centre of Organic Farming at Lamphelpat in Imphal this morning.

Many livelihood projects such as the World Bank-funded North East Rural Livelihoods project besides NERCORMP will be implemented in the region, said the DoNER Secretary while reacting to the villagers� demand for further extension of the NERCORMP in Manipur.

Kumar was here to explore the potential of the region following the Centre�s announcement of a Rs 100-crore organic farming programme for the North East.
