BONGAIGAON, Aug 27 - Union Minister for Development of North East Region (DoNER), Jitendra Singh, on Tuesday reviewed the flood-affected Dumerguri village under North Salmara subdivision in Bongaigaon district. He landed by a helicopter at the township of Bongaigaon refinery at around 12 noon before starting the tour. The minister met the Dumerguri villagers and assured them of providing sufficient relief.
He said his government would release the fund as soon as the State government submits damage assessment report to the Centre. However, the minister requested the State government to come forward to tackle the post-flood crisis jointly instead of �politicising the issue�.
