DoNER approves Rs 113.34 crore for Mizoram

AIZAWL, Aug 13 � Ministry of DoNER has approved priority sectors of the Mizoram Government to the tune of Rs 113.34 crore under Non-Lapsable Central Pool of Resources during the current fiscal, an official statement said here today.

The statement said that the priorities included infrastructure development in communication, housing, power and education sectors to be taken up during the current financial year.

The DoNER Ministry also agreed in principle for allocation of Rs 9 crore for construction of a new high court building at Aizawl.

Meanwhile, the Centre has sanctioned Rs 100.03 crore as second instalment for upgradation of water supply system and sewarage system in Aizawl.

The scheme, funded by the Asian Development Bank under North East Region Capital Cities Development Investment Programme (NECCDIP) was meant for urban renewal projects and the first instalment to the tune of Rs 32.06 crore was released in 2009. � PTI
