GUWAHATI, Oct 22 � The State is in a festive spirit with citizens from different walks of life getting ready to celebrate the auspicious Kali Puja and Diwali.

Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has extended Kali Puja and Diwali greetings to the people of the State. In his message to the people, Gogoi said that the festival of light will drive away evil and illuminate the dark corners in the mind thereby uniting all people against violence and the subversive forces.

The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Assam Pradesh, the AGP, FINER and a host of other organizations have also wished the people on the auspicious occasion and expressed that the festival of light will usher in peace and progress in the State.
