Divyanganjan Vikas Kendra opened

By STAFF CORRESPONDENT

SILCHAR, Jan 31 - In a bid to extend better facilities to the specially-abled persons of the region, an office of the Divyanganjan Vikas Kendra was ceremoniously opened inside the premises of Silchar Civil Hospital on Thursday.

Silchar MP Dr Rajdeep Roy inaugurated the office in the presence of Silchar legislator Dilip Kumar Paul and Cachar Deputy Commissioner Barnali Sarma and south Assam zone office-bearers of Saksham, which is a national charitable organisation.

Later, talking to mediapersons, Dilip Kumar Paul informed that there was no concrete venue for Saksham to extend informative facilities to the beneficiaries here. Hence, an unused building lying inside the civil hospital was identified and now this shall be the facilitation centre in the larger interest of the Divyanganjan.

The government is concerned about the welfare of the specially-abled persons and several camps have been organised by Saksham. We hope that this office shall be of help to the beneficiaries, he added.
