GUWAHATI, May 22 - To streamline the lifting and smooth distribution of PDS subsidised kerosene oil in the district, the Kamrup Metro district administration has issued a directive to all fair price shop (FPS) and Gaon Panchayat Samabay Samiti (GPSS) agents, involved in directly lifting subsidised kerosene oil from oil depots, to henceforth obtain certificate in the quota lifting, or identity book from the local authorities.

�The FPS and GPSS agents, directly lifting subsidised kerosene oil from subsidised kerosene oil depot and sub-depot will henceforth obtain certificate in the quota lifting or identity book from the Ward Commissioner or Area Sabha member in the case of Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) and Sarkari Gaonburha and minimum three members of the vigilance committee of rural areas regarding actual lifting or arrival of subsidised kerosene oil in their respective fair price shops,� said an order issued by the administration.

It added, �The certificates of the Ward Commissioner or Area Sabha member and vigilance committee members will be produced by the FPS or GPSS agents to the inspecting staff of fair price shops and Consumer Affairs department at the time of next lifting of allotted subsidised kerosene oil from the concerning subsidised kerosene oil depot or sub-depot, who in turn will allow the shops and GPSS agents to lift the quota after proper scrutiny of such certificate.�

The Area Inspector or Sub-Inspector of Food and Civil Supply and Consumer Affairs will have to submit a detailed monthly report on lifting and actual distribution of subsidised kerosene oil by the FPS and GPSS agents to the administration for further necessary action.
