Dissidence may resurface in party: Himanta

By STAFF Reporter

GUWAHATI, Jan 11 Health and Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma today said discontentment in the party may reappear if the issues raised by the MLAs are not addressed after the Lok Sabha polls.

He suggested that the senior Ministers who had been holding office for many years, must make way for others. He said he himself would offer something to strengthen the party.

At the moment there is no discontentment and everything related to it was discussed at the last Congress Legislative Party meeting. But, I feel that after the ensuing Lok Sabha polls, the grievances will have to be addressed, he said.

Replying to a query, he said the party may pocket even 12 seats in the ensuing polls if the right candidates are fielded. He added that the fight would be among the Congress, BJP, AGP and the AIUDF.
