GUWAHATI, Dec 3 - District Water and Sanitation Committee (DWC), Hojai, in collaboration with Disability Development Society celebrated World Disability Day today, a press release said.
The Disability Development Society, Hojai today came forward with the messages of Swachh Bharat Mission, making India Clean and Green. The day started with a �safai abhiyan� where all people irrespective of their abilities and disabilities took part followed by a signature campaign, and other cleanliness activities. The prime motive of celebrating the day in such a manner was to spread the message of inclusiveness and to make public aware that the dream of Mahatma Gandhi for a clean India can only be fulfilled if everyone actively takes part in the Swachh Bharat Mission.
The Deputy Commissioner of Hojai, Manvendra Pratap Singh was the chief guest of the event and participated in all the cleanliness activities and also distributed crutches and wheelchairs to the needy. Other officials from the PHE Department, Hojai along with volunteers of Hojai district actively participated in the event.
