GUWAHATI, July 14 - The Kamrup Deputy Commissioner Binod Seshan has directed the Power Grid Corporation of India to submit all data concerning the compensation to the people affected by its power transmission line in the district by July 20, said the Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) in a statement here today.
The KMSS said that the Deputy Commissioner has also constituted a committee with Additional Deputy Commissioner (Land and Revenue) Kamal Baishya as its head and SDC, Rangiya and Revenue Circle Officers as its members. At the offices of the Revenue Circle Officers, hearings would be held to know the grievances of the affected people and then on the basis of these hearings the issue of compensation would be reviewed.
This decision was taken at a meeting held by the Deputy Commissioner with the representatives of the KMSS, the Power Grid Corporation and the officials of the district, said the KMSS.
