JORHAT, Oct 29 - Football Club, Karbi Anglong of Diphu cruised into the quarterfinal stage of the 52nd ATPA Shield Football Tournament. On the second day of the championship at the Jorhat Stadium here today, the Diphu team defeated Jorhat A division league champions Barbheta Sports Club 4-2 in a pre-quarterfinal match. Now the winning team will play against ASEB, Guwahati in the quarterfinals. Ringdhar Tizdong (21st minute), Akum (43rd minute), Upen Basumatary (added time in the first half and 85th minute) were the scorers for the Diphu outfit while Mintu Saikia (75th minute) and Diju Bora (86th minute) reduced the margin. Earlier, on the opening day yesterday Moran Town Club edged past Jorhat Sub Association 1-0. Manasjyoti Sonowal netted the all important goal in the 17th minute.
