Dimasa student body�s freshers� meet held

HAFLONG, Aug 26 - Like every year, the Dimasa Students� Union, Haflong Govt College unit organised the 34th Dimasa students� social-cum-freshers� meet at the Cultural Institute Hall, Haflong on Sunday.

The day�s programme started with the hoisting of DSU flag followed by reception of guests, welcome speech from the desk of the organising committee, lighting of the ceremonial lamp and DSU anthem.

The programme was attended by Debolal Gorlosa, Chief Executive Member, NC Hills Autonomous Council as the chief guest while Executive Member Nandita Gorlosa, Dr Sarbojit Thaosen, Associate Professor, Renu Gupta, Associate Professor, Haflong Govt College attended as guests of honour.

All the speakers congratulating the fresher for their brilliant performances appealed to work hard in their studies and not to waste time unnecessarily. Dr Thaosen in an encouraging speech stressed on entrepreneurship skills to build a career. Respect, dedication and perseverance are also to be maintained by students, he opined.

CEM Gorlosa, in his speech, said that he is always committed for the betterment of the student community.

This was followed by felicitation of meritorious students for their brilliant performances in their respective fields of study.

In the function along with other invitees, mediapersons were also felicitated.

In the evening, a cultural programme was organised which kept the audience spellbound.
