Diksha murder case: Husband remanded to police custody

SIVASAGAR, Aug 20 - Sivasagar Police assisted by a three-men CID team from Guwahati have not yet been able to arrest the second person involved, other than husband Rajiv Borgohain in the sensational Diksha Rajkumari murder case .

The decomposed body of Diksha Rajkumari was recovered on August 8 from a locked rented house belonging to the owner of Delux Commercial Complex in the heart of this historic temple town.

Rajiv Borgohain was arrested on August 16 under Section 448/302 in Case No. 588/ 17 and subsequently remanded him to police custody for four days after producing him before the CJM Court on August 18.

Meanwhile, Sivasagar Police yesterday took into custody one Rishiraj Gogoi from Dibrugarh and Bidyut Kumar Gogoi from Simaluguri for interrogation.

The local unit of Hindu Yuva Chatra Parishad has demanded a thorough inquiry into the murder and expressed serious concern over increase in such cases in Sivasagar, Amrit Sarmah, president of the organisation informed.
