Dibrugarh dist admin bid to ease public services

DIBRUGARH, May 7 - In a meeting convened by the Deputy Commissioner on the Assam Right to Public Service Act 2012, a decision was reached that for the convenience of the common man, the services of this Act would be available at the Sahaj Kendra and Public Facilitation Centre in the office of the Deputy Commissioner and the Circle Offices.

The applicants will now be able to apply through online service and common man can know about the service via the Citizen Charter available at the office of Deputy Commissioner and the Circle Offices, a release stated. Applicants have been asked to bring along with them their original testimonials and are asked to to avoid middlemen.

In case, applicants cannot turn up personally they must give the authority letter to the person who comes to submit the testimonials on their behalf. Along with the services already available earlier, a few more new services have been added which are certified copy of electoral rolls, permission for special occasions like fair, religious, cultural occasions, use of loud speakers, organising rally, strikes, license to stamp sellers, renewal license for sale of explosives etc., the release said.

The meeting among others was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Sajjad Alam, Assistant Commissioner Mirzana Hussain, Election Officer Biswajit Phukan, and concerned circle offices of respective circles, E-District Project Manager Dhrubajyoti Bordoloi and other employees of various circles of the district.
