Dibrugarh Covid tally at 1313

DIBRUGARH, July 28 - The total number of Covid-19 cases in Dibrugarh district today reached 1313, with 58 new positive cases detected today. Of the 1313 patients, 620 have been discharged.

The break-up of the detections are as follows: one patient each at Milannagar, Assam Medical College, Khowang railway station, Naliapool, Chaulkhowa, Chabua, Graham Bazar, Sukanpukhuri, Chiring Chapori, Chowkidinghee, Mancotta, Borbari, Subhashpalli, Gabharupathar, Paltanbazar army camp, Santipara, Lachitnagar.

The other cases have been detected elsewhere in the district as well as in other localities of the city here.

Burglary cases increasing: Amid the Covid-19 pandemic, robbers are making the most of the dawn-to-dusk curfew hours in the city here. Barely a week after five shops were looted in Boiragimoth area, burglars broke into another two hardware shops near The Assam Tribune office here and carried away cash, computer sets and sanitary fittings worth nearly four lakhs.

The burglars stole computer desktop, laptop, CCTV DVR, mixture fittings, water pumps, CP fittings etc., besides about Rs 30,000 cash from Viabhav Sanitation shop and about Rs 10,000 cash and hardware items worth about Rs 3000 from Pee Gee Enterprise.
