DHS Kanoi College to host DU youth festival

DIBRUGARH, Dec 9 - The DHS Kanoi College here will host the inter-college youth festival of Dibrugarh University from January 21 to 23, 2016.

Students from about hundred colleges affiliated to the university will be taking part in the festival. All logistics have been planned for the success of the three-day event, the host college informed.

At least 25 students from each affiliated college will be participating in the various events during the festival. The festival events mainly include competitions in traditional music, folk songs, drama, debate, oration, photography and cultural procession, among others.

Altogether six venues have been prepared to conduct various competitions simultaneously. Accommodations have also been arranged for outstation participants, Dr Sashikanta Saikia, principal and president of the organising committee stated. He further informed that the cultural procession to be taken out as part of the festival will also form part of the competition.

A souvenir will also be released during the festival, besides publication of a daily bulletin of the events, the organisers said.
