KOLKATA, March 17 (IANS) - Chennai Super Kings skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni will miss the next four Indian Premier League (IPL) games after being ruled out of action for at least 10 days due to a right elbow injury sustained during the game against Kolkata Knight Riders Tuesday night.
Dhoni, who was hit by a rising delivery from fast bowler Shane Bond, had an X-ray at a private nursing home after the game.
"The nature of the injury is such that he will have to stay off the field for 10 days," Super Kings official Russel Radhakrishnan told IANS.
The Super Kings are scheduled to take on Delhi Daredevils Friday, Kings XI Punjab Sunday, Bangalore Royal Challengers March 23 and Mumbai Indians March 25.
Regardless of the injury, Dhoni played a captain's knock of 33-ball 66 to rescue his team from a position of worry to get the man of the match award. He put on 109 for an unfinished fourth-wicket stand alongside S Badrinath to help his team score 164/3. The Knight Riders lost the game by 55 runs after being bundled out for 109 in 19.2 overs.
