KOKRAJHAR, April 13 - The BTAD Panchayat Casual Employees� Association on Wednesday staged a three-hour sit-in-demonstration in front of Kokrajhar Deputy Commissioner�s office demanding immediate solution to their various grievances like regularisation of jobs, release of salaries etc.
The programme, which started at 11 am, was joined by hundreds of members of the association from BTAD region with banners and posters. The protesters also shouted slogans over their demands.
Later the association also submitted a memorandum to the chief of BTC through the Deputy Commissioner, Kokrajhar.
It may be mentioned here that there are 188 panchayat employees in the BTAD region, who were engaged and appointed prior to 1993 by the Assam government.
