By Correspondent

HAILAKANDI, March 14 - Former AIUDF MLA of Hailakandi constituency, Selim Uddin Laskar, expressed serious concern over the distribution of party ticket to somebody else depriving him in the Assembly elections.

He convened a meeting of his supporters in Hailakandi on Saturday and announced to contest in the polls from the constituency as an Independent candidate. The meeting was also attended by another two deprived candidates from Katlicherra and Algapur constituencies, Anil Nath and Mahbabul Hassan Laskar.

Anil and Mahbabul also announced to contest from Katlicherra and Algapur as Independent candidates to challenge the party candidates.

Selim Uddin alleged that the chief of their party, Badaruddin Ajmal, fielded comparatively weak candidates against Congress partys Gautam Roy, Rahul and Abdul Muhib Mazumdar. He said that the tickets were given on some vested interest.

The former district president of AIUDF in Hailakandi, Nurul Haque Mazumdar, also attended the meeting of dissidents.

Selim Uddin said that they have been serving the party since its inception and did not get any recognition.

Its worth mentioning that the party tickets have been given to Anwar Hussain Laskar in Hailakandi, Nijam Uddin Choudhury in Algapur and Sujam Uddin Laskar in Katlicherra.

All the three dissident candidates challenged the candidatures of these party candidates and said that they are not popular among the people and their chances are very bleak.
