Deoris to hold 13th Joydam festival in Dibrugarh

DIBRUGARH, Sept 25 - The 13th �Joydam festival�, which is basically the socio-cultural convergence of all the four groups of the Deori community for upholding its unity in diversity, will be organized in the city here.

The central committee of the Joydam festival celebration committee has entrusted the responsibility to hold the annual event in the city here from February 10 to 12, 2019 to Dibrugarh Deori Unnayan Samiti, Dibrugarh District Deori Student Union and Mehuwasi Zaksa of Dibrugarh, informed Kukil Deori, general secretary, Joydam Festival Celebration Committee.

A celebration committee has already been formed with Dr Juganta Kumar Deori as its president, Dashiram Deori as treasurer and Kukil Deori as general secretary, among others. The committee was formed on Saturday last during a general meeting presided over by Dr Kunjalata Deori, retired Professor of Delhi College of Engineering and sitting president of Dibrugarh Deori Unnayan Samiti, Dibrugarh.
