BONGAIGAON, Jan 3 - The Bongaigaon district Congress Committee organised a news meet on demonetisation and its effects on the common people at the Rajiv Bhavan here on Monday. Sherman Ali Ahmed, MLA, Baghbar LAC addressing the meet, said that demonetisation and the cash crunch had hit vegetable farmers in lower Assam districts a lot. They were compelled to throw away their produce at cheap prices, Ahmed said.
