Demo in Delhi over flood on Sept 22

DIBRUGARH, Sept 15 � The United Erosion Resistance Struggle Forum, a conglemorate of some 15 organisations, will stage a sit-in demonstration in Jantar Mantar in New Delhi along with the Assamese students of Delhi on September 22 to draw the attention of the Centre towards the alarming flood and erosion problem of Assam. The Forum would submit a memorandum to the President of India and seek her intervention for permanent solution to the alarming flood and erosion problem of the State, the body informed the media during a press conference held at DDA market complex here today.

The organisations whose members will take part in the demonstration include AASU, AJYCP, All Assam Mottock Yuva Chatra Sanmilan, Krishak Mukti Sangram Sammitti, Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuva Parishad, Asom Chatra Yuva Sangathan, All Rohmoria Erosion Resistance Forum, Dibrugarh-Tinsukia District Ban Pratirudh Sangram Manch, Assam Tea Tribes Students� Association, Asom Students and Youth Organisation and Koch Rajbongshi Students� Union, Sonowal Kachari Students� Union, etc.

In the later phases, the Forum might resort to rail blockade and organise cycle rally on the same issue.
