TINSUKIA, Aug 14 - Demanding introduction of inner line permit in Assam for the future safety of indigenous people, the Tinsukia district committee of AJYCP took out a torch rally in Tinsukia on Tuesday evening.
The spokesperson of the parishad stated that due to the unchecked influx of people from foreign countries, as well as from other parts of the country, the indigenous people have lost not only their political rightss but also their land rights.
Already indigenous people have been deprived of their lands and it was very necessary to introduce the inner line permit to check the influx of people from outside in future, he said adding that the same was being demanded by the parishad since 1978.
