GUWAHATI, Aug 25 The Janajati Smriti Jagaran Samiti has demanded immediate arrest of All India Democratic Front (AIUDF) chief and Dhubri MP Badruddin Ajmal under the provision of the National Security Act (NSA) for his allegedly inciting communal tension in Assam and other parts of the country.
In a statement here, the Samiti has alleged that the AIUDF chief has tried to distort facts relating to the clash between the indigenous tribals and the illegal migrants by his act of tainting it as an attack on the Muslims.
The AIUDF chief has been trying to settle illegal migrants in the (Bodoland Territorial Administrative Districts (BTAD) areas taking advantage of the recent clashes, the Samiti alleged.
However, the Governments in the State and the at the Centre got Bodoland Peoples Front (BPF) MLA Pradip Brahma arrested instead of all such nefarious acts of Ajmal, holding him responsible for the BTAD violence. This has heaped insults on the indigenous peoples of the State, the Samiti said.
It has also demanded immediate steps to identify and deport all the illegal migrants settling in the tribal belt and blocks of the BTAD areas.
