JORHAT, Jan 8 � Defending champions Delhi made a flying start in the 36th Junior National Handball Championship (Boys) defeating Himachal Pradesh 37-13 and Manipur 40-16 at the Jorhat District Sports Association ground here today on the third day of the meet.

Host Assam today defeated West Bengal 17-13 in the morning but went down to Punjab 5-22. Now Assam�s chance of entering into the quarterfinal stage virtually ended in smoke. Out of four group league matches Assam won only two.
