Decks cleared for city sewerage project

NEW DELHI, Nov 21 � Decks have been cleared for execution of the Guwahati sewerage project with India and Japan on Friday exchanging notes.

The notes were exchanged here today between Joint Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Rajesh Khullar, and Ambassador of Japan to India Takeshi Yagi.

Through this Exchange of Notes, Japan has committed JICA ODA loan for an amount of Yen 15.620 billion for the Guwahati Sewerage Project, official sources said.

India and Japan have had a long and fruitful history of bilateral development cooperation since 1958. In the last few years, the economic partnership between India and Japan has steadily progressed. This further consolidates and strengthens the strategic and global partnership between India and Japan.
