GUWAHATI, June 2 � The 29th death anniversary of noted freedom fighter, trade union leader and founder general secretary of State Transport Worker�s Association (STWA) Atul Saikia was observed on Wednesday at the ASTC complex, Paltanbazar, here, a press release stated.
Chandan Brahma, Minister, Transport attended the function as chief guest and paid floral tributes. Paban Singh Ghatowar, MP and vice-president, All India INTUC, Renuka Devi Borkotoky, former Union Minister, KN Chetia, managing director, ASTC, Khueshid Alam, general secretary, STWA, Achyut Senna, secretary, INTUC Assam and other trade union leaders attended the prayer meeting and placed floral tribute at the portrait of late Saikia.
