De Kock ton takes S Africa A to 522

By The Assam Tribune

WAYANAD, Aug 19: Quinton de Kock continued his preparation for the upcoming 72-day tour of India in brilliant fashion as his smashing hundred put South Africa A in complete control against India A on the second day of the first unofficial Test here today.

Courtesy De Kocks 102-ball-113 that had 13 boundaries and three huge sixes, South Africa A scored a massive 542 in their first essay.

At stumps, India A were in a spot of bother finishing the day at 122 for three with their openers Jiwanjot Singh (22), Abhinav Mukund (38) and No. 3 batsman Shreyas Iyer (49) getting out after being set well.

India A now needs another 270 runs to avoid follow-on by reaching the magic score of 392. The follow-on difference for a four-day match is 150 runs.

South African team managements decision to send De Kock to India before the senior teams visit is turning out to be a masterstroke as the stylish left-handed wicketkeeper-batsman has made full use of the opportunities.
