DC�s order to probe into fake degree of teacher flouted

TURA, Dec 28 - A RTI application on the inquiry into allegations of a teacher with fake degrees passing off as a 2nd polling officer in the 2014 Parliamentary elections, has shown that no inquiry was conducted despite an order by Deputy Commissioner of West Garo Hills (WGH) seeking an investigation.

The investigation was sought more than a year ago but no investigation or action against was initiated against the fake teacher.

The accused teacher has allegedly even provided fake land documents to prove himself to be a resident of Meghalaya which was also found through an RTI. The teacher in question, Atawar Rahman is allegedly a resident of Assam and was earlier found to be carrying a fake degree through which he had got appointment in an Upper Primary School in New Bhaitbari.
