NORTH LAKHIMPUR, Oct 22 - The Lakhimpur district administration started its poll preparedness for the by-election of 14 Lakhimpur HPC by holding a meeting with various political parties on Wednesday.
The meeting was chaired by Lakhimpur Deputy Commissoner and District Returning Officer Debeswar Malakar and was attended by representatives of various political parties. DC Malakar announced the imposition of poll code of conduct in the district following instructions by the Election Commission in the meeting and appealed everyone to follow it sincerely.
He also appealed all the political parties to extend full cooperation in holding the election peacefully in the district. The meeting was also attended by ADC (Election) BD Sarma and Election Officer Benu Mushary. It may be recalled that the by-election to 14 Lakhimpur HPC has been fixed on November 19.
