TEZPUR, July 12 - �Sristy�, a Tezpur-based NGO, set up a �day care centre for the elders� recently. The centre was inaugurated by Girish Bora, and attended by many renowned personalities, academicians, journalists and senior citizens across the State.
The centre aims at serving the elderly people, who want to live at home, yet desire companionship and require help with their daily chores. The centre will also cater to adults who need counselling and support for the overall well being of their body and mind. Kishore Garg, the president of the organisation said, �The basic aim of the adult day care centre is to provide a more enjoyable life experience to the elderly section of the society.� The coordinator, Rina Sarma told that the centre would conduct yoga and meditation programmes for the senior people from time to time, besides arranging physiotherapy sessions, whenever required.
The centre is open to all senior citizens of Tezpur town above the age of 60.
