MANGALDAI, Nov 28 - Parag Mahanta, Secretary, GMDA and Debojit Bora, Addl Secretary, Pension and Public Grievance Department, Govt of Assam who have been appointed as the observers for the panchayat polls in Darrang, visited the district on Wednesday to take stock of the progress of final preparation of the polls.
Manimala Gogoi, DIPRO, Darrang informed this correspondent that they visited several polling stations including village No. 2 Bezpara, Rangamati, Dipila etc., before visiting the temporary strong room being set up at Mangaldai College. The observers also monitored the packaging of the ballot papers, DIPRO, Gogoi further informed.
