GUWAHATI, Jan 11 � Parivartan, a non-governmental organisation, is going to hold the �Dancing Rain Creative Festival 2015� from January 24 at the Botanical Garden near the forest office at Basistha.

The two-day extravaganza with local and global support is aimed at bringing environmental awareness among people, to preserve and expand forests, stop deforestation in the North Eastern part of India and plant more trees in urban and rural spaces.

The programme will feature plantation drive, environmental movie screening, workshops on environmental and land art, music and cultural events, art and craft workshops etc.

�The mission of the festival is to create a wave of awareness and action amongst all to do their part in preserving the delicate eco system, to brainstorm ideas from youth and the experienced seniors on how to proliferate forestation and spread knowledge on maintaining a green biosphere in our living vicinity,� said the organisers.
