Curbs on printing of poll posters, banners

By Correspondent

JALUKBARI, March 26 - Keeping in view the strict instructions of the Election Commission of India, the Kamrup Election District has made it mandatory for the political parties, contesting candidates or their election agents under Boko, Chaygaon, Palashbari and Hajo LACs to take permission from the Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC) cell in advance before printing any poster, banner, handout etc., and publishing or airing political advertisements.

The committee members will verify the contents of the advertisements sought to be published or aired by the political parties concerned and candidates before releasing them via print or electronic media. The committee will keep strict vigil on any violation of the same from any quarter.

The printing presses too have been directed to submit a declaration regarding printing of any kind of election-related printing material of political parties and candidates.
