Crucial CWC meet in Delhi on June 4

By Spl CORRESPONDENT

NEW DELHI, May 29 Amidst speculation of major revamp of the AICC, the partys all-powerful Congress Working Committee (CWC) is scheduled to meet on June 4 to take stock of the current political scenario and decide on the UPAs nominee for the post of President.

Party president Sonia Gandhi will preside over the meeting which is stated to discuss several crucial issues, including fallout of the recent price hike of petrol prices, the crisis in Andhra Pradesh to the ensuing President election. The meeting is to be attended by PCC presidents, CLP leaders including some Chief Ministers.

Reports said that although no fixed agenda has been prepared for the meeting of the extended CWC, the current political and economic crisis are likely to be crucial.

This will be the first formal meeting of the CWC on issues dogging the party after the reconstitution of the committee in March last year. The meeting is likely to deliberate on its candidate for the President.
