GUWAHATI, Jan 10 � The Assam Police will recreate the �scene of crime� in Khowanigaon village under Barpathar police station where armed militants shot dead four villagers on December 27.
Sahron Teron (23), the arrested self-styled corporal of the Karbi People�s Liberation Tigers (KPLT) will be made to enact the entire sequence of the December 27 events in the village.
Bokajan SDPO Shankar Rai Medhi told The Assam Tribune that the arrested cadre of KPLT has given some important leads and further details will come up once he is brought to police remand.
The self-styled corporal was today produced before a local court, which remanded him to police custody for further questioning.
�The crime will be created once we get the nod from the Magistrate in this regard,� Rai Medhi said.
Another senior official, meanwhile, told this reporter that the arrested cadre had said during questioning that around 10 to 15 armed cadres along with 30 others triggered a reign of terror on the morning of December 27. He said that more arrests could take place in the next few days.
Meanwhile, a joint operation by Army, Police and CRPF is on in the hill district.
District administration sources, meanwhile, said that the situation is under control and normalcy is likely to return very soon.
So far, seven persons, including two KPLT militants, have died in the violent incidents in the district. Nine bodies were also recovered in Dimapur, investigation into which has already begun.
