By Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, March 8 The Communist Party of India will contest from one constituency in Assam in the Lok Sabha polls.

CPI Assam unit secretary incharge Dambaru Bora said today the party has nominated former Rajya Sabha member Drupad Borgohain for the Jorhat LS seat. We are contesting from one constituency. In the other constituencies, we will support candidates of CPI(M) and other Left parties. Our aim is to provide a viable non-Congress non-BJP alternative to the electorate, Bora said.
