CPI demands inquiry

By Correspondent

IMPHAL, June 14 - The Communist Party of India (CPI) Manipur State Council has demanded suspension of the government in the State for some time to conduct inquiry into the ongoing financial crisis.

Conveying the demand of the party, Secretary of CPI State Council L Sotinkumar told reporters here on Friday, The inquiry should be done against the CM and other Ministers by keeping the government in suspension for some time.

Claiming that the prices of essential commodities including rice are skyrocketing in the State, the CPI leader alleged that the deserving families are not getting food grains under National Food Security Act.

Well take up different forms of agitations if the demands are not fulfilled, he warned.

The demands of the CPI came a day after differences in opinion between the CMs office and Deputy Chief Minister, besides a Minister surfaced in the media.
