DIMAPUR, April 10: The Nagaland Police has made COVID-19 vaccination mandatory for all its personnel. The office of the State DGP today directed all unit commanders to ensure that all personnel under them are vaccinated.
It said the vaccine is administered to help the human immune system to develop antibodies against the disease. “Once the vaccination regime is over, your immune system will be ready to deal with the COVID-19 virus in case you get infected,” it said.
It pointed out that vaccination is a time-tested method to manage pandemics. Humanity defeated many diseases like smallpox, measles, polio, etc., through vaccination, it added.
Stating that COVID-19 vaccine is not a preventive measure, it said that all SOPs like wearing of masks are still mandatory for all, including those who have been inoculated.
