Court orders CBI probe against Arunachal CM

GUWAHATI, Aug 21 - A division bench of Gauhati High Court, comprising Chief Justice (acting) K Sreedhar Rao and Justice PK Saikia, today directed the Central Bureau of Investigation to register a case against the alleged misconduct of Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh Nabam Tuki for favour shown to his kith and kin.

The Court also directed the CBI to register a case and investigate the alleged misconduct of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, New Delhi and the Director of State Sports Council, Government of Arunachal Pradesh.

The direction was given in response to a PIL filed against Nabam Tuki by one Nabam Tabam (petitioner).

Meanwhile, the Gauhati High Court has directed a number of bureaucrats, including the Chief Secretaries of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh, to personally appear before the Court on dates specified in connection with different public interest litigations filed by different aggrieved petitioners.
