GUWAHATI, July 23 � The Civil Judge No. 3, Kamrup, Guwahati, after hearing the title suit No 233/11 filed by Atma Choudhury, the Editor of Hindi Weekly Jagrit on July 22 issued notice upon Anjan Dutta, chairman-cum-managing director of Anubhuti Printers and Publications Pvt Ltd who publish the Ajir Dainik Batori, executive editor Mihir Deori, publisher Swapan Kar and reporter Prasanta Dutta of the said newspaper.

The suit was filed for payment of compensation of Rs 1 crore against Anjan Dutta and others of Ajir Dainik Batori for publishing defamatory news against Choudhury and also involving the DGP, Assam Sankar Barua. The DGP, Sankar Barua has also been impleaded as proforma defendant in the suit.

The court after hearing the title suit on July 22 passed an order directing issuance of summons for appearance of all the defendants before the court on August 11.

Pallabh Bhowmick and D Nath, advocates argued the case for the plaintiff Atma Choudhury.
