GUWAHATI, Aug 27 - A married couple was found dead in a lodge here this afternoon. Police said the couple, identified as Swarup Choudhury, 45 and his wife Jaya Choudhury, 40 from Bijni in Chirang district, were found dead in Star Lodge situated in Beltola area.
�The husband was found hanging from the ceiling fan and the wife was found dead on the bed. They had booked the room on Sunday evening and the lodge�s staff found their bodies around 2 pm today. Their deaths are being ascertained,� officer in-charge of Basistha Police Station Nabajit Das Baghri said.
Baghri said that the husband was a priest by profession and they were in Guwahati for medical treatment.
�The man may have killed his wife and then committed suicide. But we are not sure about it. We have not found any suicide note on the spot. The real picture will come to light after we get statements from their families,� Baghri added.
