Cottonian�s unique protest against CAA

GUWAHATI, Dec 27 - Continuing with his protest against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA), a student of Cotton University in mime get-up today took out a peaceful march towards Dispur.

The student, Ibrahim Khalil of the Arabic department, also attached symbols of Hinduism, Islam and Christianity on his face and started his march at 1.30 pm from the university gate towards Dispur. He also wrapped a banner round his body which read messages such as �Joi Aai Asom�, �Assam is not a dumping ground�, �Cotton opposed CAA�, etc.

Ibrahim, who was accompanied by some other students of the university, was stopped by police near Dighalipukhuri and prevented from going further.

General secretary of Cotton University Students� Union Rahul Bordoloi who accompanied Khalil said, �I urge all the students of our State to adopt symbolic protests against the Act in their educational institutions. It can be in any form like art, music, etc.�
