Cops clueless about missing cars

GUWAHATI, Oct 8 � Even after a fortnight has passed, police is yet to lay hands on any clue about the ten cars which reportedly went missing under mysterious condition since September 23.

The trailer carrying the five Wagon R, 2 Alto K T, two Altos and a Maruti Van, however, was recovered on September 27 in Dergaon area, minus the vehicles. Rameswar Singh, the driver of the trailer too is missing since then.

The Silchar-bound trailer (HR 55 F 4805) was carrying the vehicles for Assam Logistics, which supplies vehicles to various car dealers in the State. The trailer left for Silchar from Haryana on September 10

Praveen Singh, manager, Assam Logistics, told media persons today that the global positioning system was unable to track the trailer since October 20 when it reached Bhabanipur in Barpeta district, following which a FIR was lodged with the Bhabanipur police station.
