SILCHAR, Sept 14 - The Cachar district administration has taken a special drive to aware the consumers about the government schemes, safety prevailing market conditions and price of commodities and also to put a check on the black marketers.
Deputy Commissioner S Viswanathan recently inaugurated the LED board at the Khudiram Bose point which will display and disseminate the information to the people of Silchar.
Talking about the unique move, Viswanathan said that as far as consumers are concerned, the big difference has been in the way they consume information and about products and services. �Now the consumers can get the latest updates on the products and services. Also various government messages can be sent across to the people through the board which will be operating round the clock. We can dish out information regarding disaster management and also during festivals and emergency situation,� Viswanathan said. He added to say that soon such boards will be installed at the prime locations of the town.
