Conspiracy against me: Sen Deka

By Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, Sept 17 - Former Agriculture Minister Nilomani Sen Deka today alleged that a grave conspiracy has been hatched by some vested interest circles to malign his and his family members images.

The former Minister told this newspaper that as part of that conspiracy, his name is sought to be linked with the much publicised lime scam of the Agriculture Department and lately his sons name has been sought to be linked with a fabricated case of smuggling several hundreds of the Agriculture Departments pumpsets. A section of the mediapersons has also been misled by these vested interest circles, he claimed.

Deka claimed that the pumpsets belonged to the Indra Marshal Company and his son Rajarshee Sen Deka was a dealer of that company prior to his being selected by the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) for a civil service post. The pumpsets were deposited by Rajarshee Sen Deka at the godown owned by him for the past about three to four years.

After his being selected by the APSC, Rajarshee Sen Deka relinquished his dealership and requested the Indra Marshal Company to take back the pumpsets, which were in no way connected with the Agriculture Department.

On September 15, 2015, a section of the mediapersons were taken by some people to the godown and some of them allegedly assaulted Ratan Rabha and his wife, who are the care takers of the godown. Ratan Rabha is also the driver of Rajarshee Sen Deka.

The team of mediapersons entered the godown using force and circulated the above fabricated news of Rajarshee Sen Deka stealthily dumping hundreds of Agriculture Department pumpsets in his godown.

A complaint was lodged with the Dispur Police Station in this connection day before yesterday and today the Gauhati High Court has been moved with a prayer for judicial intervention to make the police act promptly on the complaint, said the former Minister.
