SHILLONG, May 23 - Meghalaya Chief Minister and National People�s Party president Conrad Sangma today said the NDA�s massive victory in the Lok Sabha polls is an endorsement of the leadership quality of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Congratulating the Prime Minister on the �splendid performance� of the NDA in the general election, Sangma said the victory of the NDA has once again �certified the leadership quality� of Prime Minister Modi.
The NPP is a constituent of the NDA and has won the Tura Lok Sabha seat in Meghalaya. �The people of India have once again reposed their faith in his (PM Modi�s) leadership and under his leadership, the NDA has emerged victorious and we have secured more seats than last time,� Sangma said.
Stating that it was a �great moment for the country�, the Chief Minister added that under the leadership of Modi, the country would move forward towards development.
�Overall, the performance of the NDA shows that people have full faith ... and that is why we have these numbers and we can assure the people that we will continue to work in the same spirit that we did in the past,� he said.
The Chief Minister, meanwhile, left it to the wisdom of the Prime Minister to induct winning NPP candidate Agatha Sangma in the Union Cabinet. �It is the prerogative of the Prime Minister and it is his choice,� Sangma added.
